About Jakob Nason
I'm Jakob, a fellow who is inclined to hyper-fixate on hobbies and GM-ing happens to be one of them! I've always been interested in the creation of worlds and characters and seeing how they flourish and flounder. I got the rare opportunity to play DnD with some folks that went to my high school and started as a player but quickly shifted to DM when I had the time to craft my own little worlds. From then I was more DM than player and that continues to this day; 8 years now. I love making intricate worlds, planning the civilizations, past and present, what lives where, the cosmology, etc. I want to make a world that players can thrive in, where they can make characters with plenty of options and room to carve their own paths. I am most familiar with Pathfinder 2E and historically DnD 5E but I also love learning new forms of play so I wouldn't restrict myself in what I'm GM-ing.

I became a GM because
I love to tell stories and I love that as a GM I give other folks an opportunity to tell stories of their own.
The three words my players would use to describe me are...
Meticulous, story-driven and passionate.
When I'm not running games I'm...
Reading, writing, playing video games, paining miniatures, brewing, woodworking and other fixations depending on how I'm feeling.
How Jakob Nason runs games
I do focus on roleplay quite prominently but that isn't to say I don't create interesting combat scenarios. There's often variety in the battles that happen but for the higher-stakes battles I focus on matters tactical and encourage my players do so too. I want to create an experience akin to playing a hardcore RPG, which this contestably is, in having a reactive, grand world there for the players to explore every last grain of sand if they want. I'm there to forge characters that people will love and/or hate, all to ensconce a player in the world more. Whether in combat or in roleplay, I want my players to feel they can truly be their own character in whatever capacity. I also get rather deep into the world creation, I expect not every piece of information will be unearthed, and that's ok, that's life, after all.
