About me

Hey! My name is Shane, I'm 24, and I've been into fantasy, sci-fi, and games of all kinds since I popped out of the womb! Well... Almost... I just recently got into Dungeons and Dragons 5e relative to some here, but I've been obsessed with it ever since. I love creating fun, unique characters and NPCs, and telling stories to go along with them. I'm also into videogames, history, mythology, cosmology, and music, and will always try to incorporate aspects of these into my games to round them out and really get the players invested. RPGs present a really unique opportunity for players to dive into a completely different world as a whole new person. They let us tell epic stories as a group and express parts of ourselves that we might have never been able to tap into before. I want to enhance these aspects of play as much as possible by integrating the player characters into the world, and having it change as a direct result of your actions. My goal is to create a safe space that allows the players to fully immerse themselves in and shape a story that they will never forget. GM Style

I tend to favor the epic, mythological, mystical/magical, and humorous, but also tend to do dark and more serious adventures. I am rules medium, meaning I believe the rules and limitations are in place to make the game more fun, but I will gladly bend them in favor of drama, challenge level, humor, tension, or something cool. *What I offer as a GM:* -Evocative Descriptions -Fast-paced, dynamic combat -Grounded fantasy -Tailored content (story, items, world-building, and encounters) -A Safe place to play -An inclusive environment -Player agency -Welcoming and helpful to new players -RP friendly -Challenging encounters -Original creatures, settings, and items I bring D&D 5e modules and homebrew campaigns, most of the available character options via Roll20 compendium sharing, and character voices to the (virtual) table. I seek to create a fun, welcoming environment for everyone. I currently own Lost Mines of Phandelver, Curse of Strahd, Descent into Avernus, and Explorers Guide to Wildemount on roll20, and am willing to run any of them. I am also currently running a homebrew campaign, and can do more upon request. My goal is to get into running larger campaigns where we can tell a communal story and everyone can explore their own character's backstory and development arc! I love helping players create an awesome character that is engrained in the world and story. I will also be running shorter adventures and one-shots that will be less focused on character story/development and more about roleplaying something new, solving problems and slaying monsters!
