Have you ever been playing a session and thought to yourself, "Wow! That was like a movie!" That's my specialty! My DM style is heavily influenced by my out-of-game job: filmmaking. As a director, writer and artist by trade, my Dungeons and Dragons campaigns are usually character-driven narratives, rife with drama and humor. The first time I DM'd was for a homebrew campaign that I had created parallel to a fantasy book series I am working on. My players and I used it to poke holes in the world building, iron out the plot, (unwittingly) create new characters that will appear in the book and --most importantly-- had an immense amount of fun! I am and always have been a lover of telling stories. I'm a trained actor and improvisor. My love language is character backstory and I am a collaborator at heart. GM Style

I am a collaborative GM that is going to be focused on storytelling and developing the characters in the campaign in a way that feels natural. Combat and encounters are all ways to facilitate the shifting group dynamics (and all do really awesome stunts!) As much as I pull from the books and hold to the general rules of Dungeons and Dragons, I am wholly a supporter of the 'rule of cool'. If you can tell me what you want to do and have a creative way of doing it- we'll try it out! To me, TTRPG is about having fun and collaboratively telling a story, not nitpicking on rules and regulations. I generally create a world and situations for my players with plot elements and see what they bring to the table. I love adding in puzzles, combat, non-combat encounters to push them together (or apart!). Incorporating ideas and, especially, backstory elements from the players is my favorite part of DMing. We're all telling this story together! I do some voices/accents, though I won't say I'm any Matt Mercer. Some safety tools I use: session zero, lines and veils, stars and wishes. I'm more than happy to chat beforehand about any questions, concerns, helping build out a backstory or character. This is all about having fun and telling a story together. Player comfortability and enjoyment is primary to everything else!
