About me

"The players accomplished something great, but then it got worse." My name is Youri, but online I go by Gilga. I love making games, have a bachelor degree in Game Design. I've had a love for tactical games for as long as I can remember and have played some at tournament level. I've been playing DnD for over a decade, and a majority as DM. While I have DM'd many one-shots and shorter campaigns, I am focussed on DM'ing a Homebrew campaign that has been running for three years that is continuously engaging players while progressing their stories.

GM Style

If I were to describe my DM'ing style in a single sentence it would be: "The players accomplished something great, but then it got worse." I believe winning is fun, but only as long as the victory is hard fought. I want my players to feel danger, but be able to surmount it. I will tease my players with glory and riches, only to have the roughness of life run their carefully laid out plans through the mud. But most importantly, I want my players to engage with both their own character and those of others at the table to immerse and progress through this tale of woes together. What makes my style of DM'ing unique: I primarily use Google Sheets to run my sessions. I believe they have tools that add to immersion that other tools do not possess in an accessible manner.
