About me
Creativity & Collaboration TTRPGs are able to bring everyone together and create indescribable moments & adventures. Facilitating these games combines my love for adventure, education, and fantasy in a way that rustles every last jimmy I have. I've been DMing 5e for over 5 years both online and in-person. Beginner friendly & friend friendly.
GM Style

I will come with a plan and I fully expect/want you to derail that. Improvisation and adaptation are my specialty - and our best moments will come when we go off into the unexpected.

Ben was able to provide not only a new experience but a perspective shift when it came to DnD. I left excited, challenged, encouraged, and hungry for more! He has a strong educational background that melded into the gaming experience. Ben has the ability to create a clear framework and share the necessary building steps to provide his players with a thorough understanding and provide the critical thinking ability that leads to ultimate success. He provided clear expectations, and rule guidance that paved the way for a smooth gaming period. Ben's natural ability for adaptability, authenticity, and open-mindedness allows appropriate room for player creativity all the while keeping the game unpredictable and spontaneous. It is evident that Ben holds credible experience and a solid foundation in which he has built the appropriate technique that he is able to share with his companions. Ben was able to provide a fun experience that I don't believe would've been gained elsewhere. Thanks for sharing with me, I can't wait for the next time.
In a Theros-set game, our party all named after Taco Bell items was always one Wild Magic from wrecking whatever structure was unlucky enough to be around us - and Gaff just kept going with it. Funny, indulges the correct number of frustrating puzzles, clearly has a great time introducing the monsters whose dice he's warming up. His weakness is he forgets about magic items, and I'll say creativity goes a long way for your odds.
I'd tried D&D before, but it never really worked - the game always got bogged down. Ben DM'd a campaign for us that was easy to follow, and he made the rules make sense, sticking to what we needed. The story was interesting, but what really stood out was when things went off the rails! Weird things happened that hadn't been part of the original script, and we had no idea until after the fact - we just did what made sense, and the story went along!
Ben is a teacher, meaning he has spent years perfecting his abilities of performance, group management, task focus, and enthusiastic interaction. Ben masterfully builds stories around his players, leaning into their characters' interests, while still holding his cards close, finding ways to surprise his players with outlandish NPCs, dastardly villains, and challenging puzzles. He was my very first DM, and possesses the gentle touch of an educator who can guide new players to understand the rules without commandeering the game. One has the sense, truly, that anything can happen in one of Ben's games and yet Ben never loses his confidence because he rests on years of experience and a thorough understanding of the rules. As a player who loves both role-playing and goofing off, I always look forward to sessions run by Ben and hope to play many more!
