About Gabe Griesbaum
I love worldbuilding, and I love being a forever DM. Over the last 20 years, I have run classic high fantasy D&D in multiple editions, gritty wild-west style cypher campaigns, low magic homebrew campaigns, and much more. I have recently been building a new campaign world with bastions of abundance and plenty sprinkled around a vast unforgiving countryside. In place of Western European knights and taverns, it is a more low-tech druid-controlled world inspired by the civilizations that preceded the medieval era. The civilizations of the Americas (Inca, Maya), the early middle east (Egypt, Sumerian, Akkad), Europe (Gaul, Celts, Vikings), and eastern tribal traditions (Mongols, Malay, Javanese) are reflected in the disparate humanoids of my new campaign. I have world and local maps made on Inkarnate, PDF one-sheets of well-known lore on tribes and places, and a dedicated discord server. I use Avrae dice bot on Discord, with ambiance through Pancake bot. I am currently running a 5e campaign in this campaign world for my long-time friends, but I would be interested in setting up a new game, meeting new people, and making new memories with a few new friends.

How Gabe Griesbaum runs games
My style is descriptive, and the story often evolves into something sweeping and epic. I don't start with a grand story, but wait for something to organically emerge through cooperative storytelling. I work hard to connect PC backgrounds to the world, and provide clear adventure boards with options to choose from. Often, players start with the easiest posted missions, gain some confidence, then ignore the job boards and get involved in tangential nonsense. After months of play, you can expect laughs, fights, and getting to know your fellow players. I have dozens of NPCs with goals that will drive the story, and take pride in RPing NPCs in distinct and memorable ways. Character death, romance, and legal consequences should all be expected. I hope that your character (and you) will grow to love the world and your travel companions. I am looking for emotionally mature persons, people who would be good friends.
