About me
I have been facilitating games for 10+ years. I run games for children and adults. I empower players to actively shape the world, fostering deep connections and investment. I actively listen to and incorporate players' creative ideas, encouraging character evolution through post-session reflections. During the day I am a pediatric therapist and use games and storytelling to help individuals learn and use coping strategies. What sets me apart is that the skills needed to be a good therapist (communication, listening, understanding, collaboration, empathy) make you an amazing Game Master. As your Game Master I can provide: ->Epic adventures where every player is not just an audience member but a vital storyteller, making our sessions a truly engaging and memorable experience. ->One-shots ->Long form campaigns ->Child and adult birthday parties ->Special events ->Team building events ->Teaching games to new players I love learning new games and if there is a game you have in mind that is not listed, I would be excited to learn it so I can run it for you.
GM Style
I love a good story. The epic kind, the spooky kind, the stressful kind, the kind where you feel like a superhero, the kind where all odds are against you. The kind where you feel like a kid from stranger things, and the kind where you feel like you're part of the fellowship of the ring. Creating a shared, fun experience is essential. I put a lot of effort into making sure the players' ideas become a part of the story. It's also important to facilitate a trusting and collaborative experience. I put a lot of effort into making that happen between the players as well as between the players' characters. Our games will have exploration, mystery, puzzles, traps, and of course battles but there is always a creative way to overcome a challenge without resorting to violence in our games. I run premade adventures and add my own flavors to them. I also run many games made up entirely from the creative minds of the players. Building a world and its mysteries in our first session. I always have a session zero that provides expectations for how we treat each other at the table, what type of game we want to play, a worldbuilding exercise and character creation. It is also important to feel comfortable around the table and have tools in place to facilitate a safe space. These will be discussed during session zero as well. All games will have a check-in at the beginning and a debrief at the end. Check-in allows for everyone to get a sense of how we are coming into the session and debriefs allow us to highlight moments during session that really shined as well as to state something they would like to see in future sessions.
