If you want to embark on an epic fantasy adventure filled with action, risks and an immersive storyline, this is not the DM for you. The first 45 minutes of the session were spent being talked to like a toddler on how to be respectful to each other. Then once we finally started the first hour of the "adventure" I wouldnt even consider D&D. Basically just the most mundane roleplaying (more like monologueing) between the DM and one player about insignificant backstories. Like its a one shot, we want a compact adventure. We dont care about listening to why your character decided to leave home as a teen. Soooo boring and irrelevant! Once we finally got to the singular combat encounter, the map didnt fit the page, there wasnt a grid and the DM didnt know the rules. It was one of the worst combat encounters ive ever had to sit through. If you want to be in a game thats more similar to a bad soap opera but somehow with less drama, then Reagan might be the DM for you, but put those dice away because you'll very rarely ever use them in the 4 hour session.
The GM should have kept the players focused so that we all could have participated in a story. My session felt overtaken by silly roleplaying that did not provide any context to the story or any goal to achieve. I appreciate that the GM tried to include me in roleplaying, but it was only after 2 hours had passed that they remembered I was there, and the opportunity provided was lackluster. By the time we got to combat, it was way past the halfway timing of the session. I think the GM could have added extra encounters to keep us alert since we were sailing on the sea (sirens, sea creatures, facing a storm, etc.).
Reagan's descriptions blew my mind. They described everything beautifully and it really helped immerse me in the scene! Their character descriptions were phenomenal and they did a fantastic job at including everyone at the table regardless of how experienced they were at D&D. An excellent GM for both experienced and brand new players
Raegan is an outstanding DM that actively listens and tries their best to incorporate player backstories into the plot (if a player has a significant one). Our campaign has such a rich world and I can't describe how much I've fixated on it due to the fact my own NPCs and ideas have been added in order to further fill it with life! This campaign is my first D&D experience ever as well, so rest assured knowing that Raegan is patient and welcoming for newer folks. We also have consent sheets so no one gets too uncomfortable!
Fable is a highly excellent DM in DnD, I am a beginner player, and they are extremely friendly regarding questions and general help with the more minor things. They have been playing for quite a few years and have Dmd numerous campaigns themselves with a wide variety of PCs, world-building, and overall story. I would absolutely recommend them if you want a more horror-themed campaign or just one that is filled to the brim with lore and adventure
