About me

Hi there! I’m Fergus (or just Ferg) I’m a game designer and GM with over 8 years of experience based in the UK. Games have always been a passion for me (I even have a degree in designing them!) and it is my joy to provide these experiences for others. TTRPGs specifically were introduced to me when I was 15 years old and since then have become an integral part of my life. It's important to me that my games are enjoyable for everyone at the table, while also being as safe and inclusive as possible. As such I have a zero tolerance policy for things like racism, sexism, homophobia, etc. both in and outside of games. My specialties are Dungeons & Dragons 5th Edition and Pathfinder 2nd Edition, but I am always open to running new game systems! I hope to roll dice with you soon!

GM Style

My focus in games is always to highlight the player characters. I want to give players the feeling that they really are the heroes of the story we're telling together. As part of this I love to give players ownership of how they are presented, asking how their character specifically does something. Yes you may be casting a spell, but how do YOU specifically cast that spell that may differ from others. I won’t pretend to be a rules encyclopedia, but I make sure to have a solid grasp of any system I run. My games usually stick pretty close to the rules, but I'm not afraid to break them for the sake of enjoyment or narrative. I also encourage players to think outside the box and negotiate with me to try wild ideas! Generally it's my aim to create a sandbox that gives players the freedom to do anything they set their minds to. I try to adapt my games to the character’s goals and actions. But I'm just as happy to create a linear adventure on rails with the players along for the ride (though I may still give you some opportunities to drive the train yourselves for a bit).
