How Mike Jones runs games

I'm a fairly laid back DM. I try to stick to the Rules as Intended, while keeping fairness and fun in mind. I prefer "rulings" over "rules" in general, and try to make sure the game flows, rather than getting bogged down by procedures. My games emphasize exploration and investigation, offering quirky or fantastical locations, mysteries and curiosities, and plenty of dramatic tension. I love when players come up with creative solutions to problems, and when they articulate goals and aspirations that drive their character's actions, and work with players to make them happen. For me, Dungeons and Dragons is about Adventure, above all else.
