Throughout my dedicated years as a Dungeon Master, I have cultivated a distinctive approach that leans towards a more flexible interpretation of rules compared to my fellow Dungeon Masters. This perspective stems from my firsthand experiences witnessing campaigns stagnate prematurely due to excessive rule enforcement, as well as observing players engage in unproductive disputes over trivial matters. It is disheartening to see Dungeon Masters rigidly impose rules that contribute little to no value to the game itself. Consequently, I have come to the realization that allowing players the freedom to shape the world they inhabit, rather than confining them within an overly restrictive framework of rules, proves to be a far more rewarding and enriching experience. Nonetheless, I acknowledge the importance of maintaining certain rules to ensure coherence and sustained engagement among players, preventing an environment where everyone pursues their individual endeavors without a unified purpose. This balanced approach, one which strikes a harmonious middle ground, is a rarity in the realm of Dungeon Masters, and it is a facet that sets me apart.
