About me
Hello new friends, my name is Sam and it is lovely meeting you. I have been a player and GM for more than 25 years. I primarily have run Dungeons & Dragons from second through fifth Editions, but usually can find the benefits of playing in any system. I am particularly fond of Savage Worlds when I want to make a truly unique world that is far removed from typical fantasy. As a GM my goal is to incorporate your characters story along with one of my own making in an immersive world that responds to the players. I enjoy moral conundrums as well as using real world history to lend realism to the adventure's I write. While I love all genre's from fantasy to futuristic space opera's I am most at home with worlds that contain a fair amount of horror and psychological thrill. On a personal level I am LGBTQ+ friendly and inclusive. I am tolerant of most everything except intolerance. Always feel free to drop me a line to see what sort of campaign I am running next, it might be just the thing you've been waiting for.
GM Style
My main focus is usually story and plot above all else. I generally speak with my players about their particular interests so I can incorporate the things they like into my sessions. I like to rotate player focus as much as possible, and each adventure is usually part of some greater whole. I enjoy collaborative world-building the most. I often start with broad strokes and weave in new places as the narrative requires. This means that as players tell the stories of their homeland I take notes. Generally my philosophy for being a GM is prepare to improvise. Not every interaction needs be meaningful, but there should be meaning in each interaction.

Teacher
Playing through Tombs of Annihilation with Doxsis. He is a fantastic and generous DM who is fair, while not being a stickler for the rules. He creates plenty of opportunities for character explorations, and he is happy to work with players to allow characters meaningful growth. There are plenty of laughs to be had, the deaths have weight and the successes earned.
Sam is a very warm and welcoming DM and an engaging storyteller. I can personally attest that he will listen to your weird and wonderful character ideas while grounding them in the narrative and adding some twists and turns along the way. Our group has been playing through Tomb of Annihilation and has range of play styles. Sam is able to engage and provide depth to the player character who is the embodiment of chaos to the lore seeking, skilling checking tiptoer. All our characters have changed in unexpected ways and the group dynamic has shifted at various points based on interesting home-brew or others ideas Sam has introduced. Ultimately Sam always keeps it fun and engaging and fully understands D&D is a silly game we all take very seriously.
