About DM Greg
I have been GMing games since the early-mid 90's with AD&D2e and have been a 'Forever DM' ever since. In 2018 I picked up the Virtual Tabletop (VTT) Fantasy Grounds to start running games from home and have been running an average of 8 games a month ever since. I use Fantasy Grounds VTT to bring players an immersive in-game experience. I take advantage of the streamlined automation tools to make combat a breeze, utilize line of sight(LoS) features and map effects to bring the table to life, and Syrinscape to create live-in-game sounds effects and ambiance. Not only do I bring years of experience as a Fantasy Grounds GM, but I also volunteer my free time to teach the software to new players. So if you are a new or old player alike I can bring you a fun, immersive experience for any game and am available between game sessions to help get you on the path to Start Playing.

I got started GMing...
in middle school. My friend's dad had a bunch of OD&D and AD&D books on the shelf that he let us read and use. I bought a Forgotten Realms campaign setting box for AD&D and started my journey there.
My 3 systems I'd bring to a desert island would be
OD&D Traveller D&D 5e
When I'm not running games I'm...
reading fantasy and sci-fi, hanging with my dogs, or exploring the outdoors.
How DM Greg runs games
I prefer to let my players tell their story. Whether running a hardcover adventure book from a publisher or creating an adventure of my own, I find each player's unique take on problem-solving, storytelling, and role-playing takes center stage.
Featured Prompts
I deal with rules issues by...
Adjudicating as quickly as possible to keep the game moving. Following up with an official ruling that will stay consistent for the rest of the campaign.
When it comes to voices
We aren't paid actors. Speaking in the 3rd person does wonders.
Rules are...
A firm guideline that are open to changes if clearly stated ahead of time.
DM Greg's ideal table
I look for players who want to be engaged for the entire session and are respectful to the experience of others at the table.

I love it when a player
has a creative solution that is unexpected.
I think it's a red flag when players...
ask others how to run the character build they found on the internet.
