About DesVingths(Mike)
Hello! I am Mike, an-aspirant online GM looking to play host some stories from dungeon-delving's past. I aim to provide as immersive an experience as I can for my players through distinct voices and descriptive language. My objective as your game manager is to provide fluid narration, decisive (and fair) adjudication, and edge-of-your-seat thrills - and all for less than a cost of your share for pizza. DesVinghts means 'twenties'. Lets roll some! I look forward to gaming with you. - Mike

My 3 systems I'd bring to a desert island would be
Savage Worlds, Dungeons and Dragons 5e (not 2024 - blech!), and Warhammer.
My favorite books are
The Legend of Drizzt (up to Hero).
My favorite system of all Time is
Savage Worlds. Hindrances make a character feel REAL - and earn you bennies!
How DesVingths(Mike) runs games
I try to provide an exciting narrative while keeping the action framed within the rules. I encourage players to take their time and to interact with the environment around them. Part of the world will be rendered by their imagination, so I urge them to 'think in 3D', for lack of a better analogy. I try to prepare as best I can so I come to the table prepared and ready to answer questions or adjudicate as needed. I also LOVE playing on this side of the screen, so I hope to bring energy and life to the narrative. My preference is to run adventures in my imaginary world of Ulterras, That way, I can maintain some sovereignty over its lore, its institutions and its cosmology. I aim to work with players to find their place in that world. The biggest obstacle I foresee is getting Roll 20 to behave.
DesVingths(Mike)'s ideal table
Beginner players will find a welcoming environment. Veteran players will appreciate the creativity. Through descriptive narrative, and active listening, I try to incorporate every player into the adventure and aim to have them make as many rolls as feasible in a session. Some are frivolous, some are impactful, but all are guided by what a player describes themselves doing. Players are encouraged to come to the table with 2 characters, with one main and one understudy. They serve as a quick replacement in case of a death or as an active agent in one of the game's many sub-plots. My fights tend to drag a little, but getting it right beats rushing and making a miscall. NOTE: I've learned that min-maxxers and rule lawyers do not have as much fun in my games due to my interpretation and approach. My table is not about showing how clever you are in outwitting the neutral Dungeon Master... it's about collective storytelling, exploring the nuances of the game, and growing your characters in a world that's 50% fantastic narrative, and 50% "Ouch! Getting hit with something metal REALLY HURTS!". If you want to pwn the DM, find another table.

I think it's a red flag when players...

My table is not the place for...
