About me

By day I support statewide youth engagement programs and by night I don a nerdy game and run Tabletop Role Playing Games for family, friends and community members! Who am I? DM Deadly Quaker. Most people know me as Gabe, my daytime alias. Roleplaying games have been an important outlet for me to explore the world, learning new things and care my mental health. You will often hear me say, "Sometimes we need a little fantasy to survive reality" as I believe that game playing is a necessary part of life. I also work with local educators to gamify their learning environments to unlock different access points for teaching. I look forward to meeting new people and discussing all the ways people are using games to connect with themselves and the people around them!

GM Style

At their core TTRPGs are tools for collaborative story telling! As a GM I like to create space for each player to have opportunities to drive the narrative and take agency over the story. I focus heavily on character development and setting while allowing the plot to unwind as the players explore exciting worlds. In order to do this effectively I employ 'the rule of cool' in order to flex the rules when they may inhibit our story telling.
