About Cro
Big 27 year-old nerd here. If you're curious as to the visuals of my game: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Argn1eWRX9A As a GM, I want to build something for people to have fun with, and escape their week for a few hours. Where every NPC you meet is someone you'll remember. Every choice your character makes will echo somewhere down the line. Some sessions you'll be on the edge of your seat. Others you'll be crying from laughter. Either way, we'll have fun and look forward to the next session.

I became a GM because
I had a really bad experience with my first GM 5+ years ago. Lots of red flags! Since then, out of pure spite, I've endeavored to give people an enjoyable experience.
How Cro runs games
D&D has two aspects. The first, is a dungeon-crawling, power-fantasy fighting game. The second is collaborative narrative storytelling, or roleplay. I like to balance the two! I inevitably lean over to the roleplay side more often, though. I want to care! I want YOU to care! Character moments, gossip, consequences, the world remembering what you did, and all that. Not just swinging your sword, but feeling your conviction in the strike. The only hard No's I'll ever give you are: - Describing heavily sexual themes. Let's fade to black at the very least. - Attacking/stealing from players without an above-table conversation about it. - There are other 'grey area' stipulations further in my discord. My Commitments: - Session 0 will always be free. If you're on the fence, give it a shot anyway. Let's hang out. - I will offer lifelines for character death. - "Useless" utility cantrips (mending, prestidigitation, druidcraft) actually solve problems at my table. - I allow all of the WotC Sourcebooks. I allow homebrew, within reason. I use 2024 5.5e with backwards compatibility to 2014 in mind. - I focus on character backstory and implement it into the game, but won't pressure you on it if you just want to chill and play. - Attacks animate, your character's portrait sits onscreen as you speak, and the music/ambience shifts when the scene does.

My favorite trope is...
Redemption. You'll easily be my favorite player if you're a villain that threw away that life and decided to be the good guy instead, or if you convince the villain that what he's doing is wrong.
Rules are...
are bent, but not broken. As the arbiter of the game, I have to respect the dice and sometimes tell you no, in order to honor the stakes and spirit of the game. But Rule of Cool is something I heavily employ. I'd much rather ask for a valid sacrifice or wager rather than shut your idea down.
When it comes to voices
I do switch inflections and try different accents. To me, they seem bad, but I haven't heard any complaints, just laughs at times.
Cro's ideal table

If you're into ___, you're going to love my table
Backstory creation. You don't have to make the most in-depth, dramatic, novel-length background ever. But I want you to figure out what kind of story you enjoy telling. What shire did your character grow up in? What villains are roaming around in the world that are looking for a deadly reunion?
I love it when a player
Explains what's going on in their character's head, like when they see something shocking, or when they strike. Enjoy your character! Tell their story!
My table is not the place for...
The light-hearted! Adult themes and juicy controversy are a spicy ingredient in my games. Not to be used all the time, but in where it counts.
