About Pope
I have been playing D&D 5e for about 10 years now and GMing for almost as long. A group of my coworkers pulled me into a game entirely at random and I fell in love with TTRPGs. Over the past decade, I have learned the dos and don'ts of D&D, and I have played every class at least once, my favorite being Warlock. I lean more towards the roleplay aspect of TTRPGs rather than strict rules, believing strongly that a fun game is a good game, regardless of what any book says. At the same time, I try my best to keep things fair, so no one player outshines or overpowers the others. On a personal note, if you're curious about my name, it's my surname. At one point, there were two of us with the same first name in our friend group, so we just used out last names. It stuck, even after that group eventually fell apart for one reason or another. I'm not religious in any way, except for my devotion to fun games and good times.

How Pope runs games
I have my Table Tenents, five hard rules which I expect every one of my players to abide by, so everyone feels included and has a good time. We go over these properly during each session 0, but they essentialy break down to: Respect, Teamwork, Preparation, Flexibility, and Communication. Respect is all about accepting others and letting everyone have their turn in the spotlight. Teamwork is pretty straight-forward, games are about everyone having a good time, not just the GM or a single player. Preparation is about making games run as smoothly as possible, and bringing your A-game to the table. Flexibility could also be called Acceptance, it's mainly about going with the flow and letting things happen, even if they don't fit your head canon. Communication is about being open and honest, I can't fix something if I don't know there's a problem. My games, like my favoured style of play, lean more towards roleplay and choice-driven narratives. Choices made in my games tend to have impact on the over-arching story. I like my worlds to feel alive and full, with NPCs having connections that change over time, and quests that impact the world in a real way. Combat is used as a tool to move the story along, rather than a way to fill some time or just roll dice. I'm flexible with the rules, wanting people to be able to build the character of their dreams, but try to keep things fair at the same time, "The code is more what you'd call 'guidelines' than actual rules."
