About Bert
Hello, I'm Bert. In my youth, I played Das schwarze Auge. After a break of several years, during which I immersed myself in theater and especially pantomime, I've returned and now see all the advantages that a pen-and-paper role-playing game offers: dramaturgy, improvisation, storytelling, and the lively interaction with the players. For several years now, I've been playing Dungeon Crawl Classics. Initially, I was drawn in by the breathtaking illustrations and enthusiastic reviews, but I've stayed because of the chaotic random tables and the unique madness of this system. From the very beginning, I've been the game master, following the motto "Someone's gotta do it." Today, it's become a true calling. I happily delve deeper and deeper and continuously learn, because there's still so much to discover. I'm open to feedback and ideas, but I also make decisive choices to keep the game flowing.

I ran my first game...
I ran my first game in my youth, and it was so bad, yet so unforgettable. It took away my fear of running games and making mistakes. I hope to create an atmosphere at my game tables where we all dare to try something new and with humor, leave the familiar behind.
How Bert runs games
Hello, I'm Bert. I'm completely dedicated to DCC and DCC. I approach my sessions from a dramatic perspective, having studied mime for several years. I wouldn't describe myself as a neutral "judge," but rather as a playful adversary, a dramatist, and an absolute fan of my players. I love it when my players come up with unconventional and creative solutions, and especially when I'm surprised by the outcome. My biggest role model is the dungeon AI from the Dungeon Crawler Carl book series, except I'm not quite as deadly, as I'm particularly passionate about character development and my players' stories.
