About Ali

I have been playing and GMing for 6 years. I am huge fan of DnD and everything that comes with it. I usually play official books but add and change many things. I am very spontaneous and also love when my players are spontaneous. Immersion is key to having fun and Fun is always important. I have now been transitioning to play the 2024 rule sets but 2014 will always have a special place in my heart. I myself am a fighter through and through. Nothing beats a critical on 19 and saving your friends on the frontline.

How Ali runs games

A balance of roleplay and combat is key and if roleplay leads to combat then even better. Immersion is key. Once you immerse yourself in the world then even the tiniest details matter and hit differently. Combat benefits from this also. Each turn will be more crucial when everyone involved is invested. From a technical stand point adhering to the rules is important but rule of cool has to fit in there somewhere. Of course you won't be slaying any Gods at level 1 but you feel like you are. The other side of the coin is when things get serious narratively each roleplay moment becomes that much more important and impactful. My worlds are always a play on the "official" books. Even if we play the campaign again, it is never the same. I love side quests letting each player shine when they need to. My worlds are always high fantasy. I am very spontaneous to a point of course. I love details big or small. But no one wants to reads walls of text so actions usually show these details.
