About Lyon Devereux
Hi! I'm Lyon, and I've been telling stories for as long as I can remember. I first started playing TTRPG's over 20 years ago with my older brothers, and I haven't looked back since. I started out with 3rd edition D&D and the Warhammer Fantasy, and since then I've never stopped exploring new worlds, systems and settings. I have spent most of my life working as a writer, an actor and a teacher, roles that have all had a strong impact on the way that I run my games. I love to encourage creativity and innovation amongst the people that I am playing with, and I'm constantly seeking out new experiences to explore and tales to tell. I've been described as being very enthusiastic and energetic as both a player and games master and love nothing more than exploring the worlds me and my friends have created together. I consider myself to be a very friendly, open and honest person who always strives to make everyone feel included and valued in whatever activity i'm taing part in, and TTRPG's are no exception. I'm always eager to meet new people who share the same interests and passions that I do, so wether we end up delving in to a dark mystery on the murky streets of a rainy city or engaging in high stakes adventures beyond the stars, I can't wait to see what kind of story we end up telling.

How Lyon Devereux runs games
For me, the best experiences at the tabletop happen when the game mechanics themselves fade into the backfround, allowing myself and the players to really engage in the wonderful world, story and characters that we have created together. I love a strong narrative in a campaign, and I am always eager to explore complex and interesting themes in my games. I'm very much a "Yes, and...?" type of GM, and I encourage my players to take part in the world building with me - as long as they are comfortable and happy to do so! I always take the time to discuss what my players want from a game and from their characters and do my best to accomadate them as to me, that's the best way for all of us to have a good time! That isn't to say I don't also enjoy a good combat or a dungeon crawl, but it's important to me that when combat does happen it pushes the plot forward, with high stakes and a meaningful outcome at the end. I value player creativity and innovation over just about anything else, and I'm the type of person who is more than happy to let the rules slide for a moment if it means the party gets a great experience out of it. I can be frim but fair when I need to be to ensure that everyone at the table feels respected, valued, and able to fully participate in the game we are playing together. Although my personal preference is for horror and darker themes in my work, I always take the players needs and desires into consideration and make sure to adapt my story and style if need be.
