About Alexander
Hello there, why don't you come out of the cold and join an old mountain-dweller at the fireplace. I like to run cinematic, narrative-first stories, where players actions and relations matter, and personal stories are shaped by and in turn shape the world they inhabit. I love onboarding new players into the hobby, and seeing characters grow from nobodies into heroes of the realm. The world you play in is a living, breathing thing, where official and 3rd-party modules get interwoven with players background and my own designs to offer a compelling framework for sandboxing. I've been into fantasy worlds and RPGs games ever since I can remember. Books, videogames, (miniature) tabletop games were my happy place. One faithful day, almost 10 years ago, I finally picked up the mantle of DM and have since been running games for friends, colleagues and acquaintances both online and in person. Looking forward to telling a story with you.

I became a GM because
I feel like I've been a storyteller since childhood and I love games. GMing allows me to build these fantasy worlds and let people I like to hang out with run amok in them to create fun moments that we may remember years from now.
When I'm not running games I'm...
trying to be the best dad I can to my wonderful children.
How Alexander runs games
I'm here for the player stories within the world. Roleplay is heavily encouraged, and relations between characters, whether PCs or NPCs, matter. Politics, history and factions matter. And as PCs gain in level and renown, their own ambitions within this framework matter. The systems I play are heavily combat-focussed, but rarely will your characters have to draw swords just for the sake of it. Once the fight is on, be prepared for tactical, grid-based combat where not just the characters, but also their enemies have fun abilities in their arsenal. Exploring you surroundings, travelling the world and the passage of time is important. Book-keeping not so much. Dungeon delving, clearing room by room, isn't out of the question, but never an end in itself. Once the heroes are etablished in te world, I don't shy away from complex mechanical systems to support personal ambitions, whether official or third party. Ultimately, I try to run a balanced game between pillars of play, and will shift focus according to the player's story decisions and preferences.
