About Topher's Adventures

I’ve been a fan of tabletop games for years, especially Dungeons & Dragons, and I actually became a DM after having a few bad experiences as a player. Those experiences showed me what I didn’t want at my own table, and I decided I wanted to create the kind of game I had been looking for, one where players feel comfortable, included, and like their characters and choices actually matter. My GM style is a mix of storytelling, roleplay, humor, combat, and plenty of improvisation. I love creating memorable NPCs, watching players come up with solutions I never expected, and adapting the story around the choices they make. I never want players to feel like there is only one "correct" way to play the game or that they’re just along for the ride in the DM’s story. It should be our story. I also really enjoy helping newer players get into tabletop games. Nobody should feel embarrassed because they don’t know a rule or have to worry about making a mistake. I want my table to be somewhere you can learn the game, get invested in your character, laugh at ridiculous moments, have some genuinely dramatic ones, and just enjoy playing D&D with a good group of people. Outside of tabletop gaming, I come from an IT background, so I’m very comfortable with technology, troubleshooting, and learning new platforms and tools. I also have an interest in voice acting and character work, which definitely finds its way into the characters and NPCs I play. Ultimately, if my players finish a session exc

How Topher's Adventures runs games

Players in my games can expect a good mix of roleplay, exploration, combat, humor, and storytelling. I love giving players opportunities to really get into their characters, interact with memorable NPCs, and make choices that can genuinely change where the story goes. I have a plan when we start a session, but I’m always ready to throw that plan out the window when the party inevitably decides to do something I never expected. I want combat to feel exciting and meaningful rather than something we are doing just because there are monsters in the room. Sometimes that means a difficult fight where the party has to think strategically, and other times it might mean an encounter where talking, sneaking, or coming up with a completely ridiculous solution works just as well as swinging a sword. Most importantly, I want my games to feel like a collaborative experience. I’m not there to play against the players or force everyone through the story I wrote. Your character’s decisions matter, and I love incorporating character backstories and personal goals into the larger adventure. My table is also welcoming to both experienced players and people who are completely new to tabletop games. You don’t need to have every rule memorized or know exactly what you’re doing. Come ready to participate, tell a great story together, roll some dice, and have fun. At the end of the day, it isn’t my story. It’s our story.
