About Alexandria Sukumaran

Howdy! I'm Alex, lovely to meet you. I've been running TTRPGs since 2014 with the D&DNext playtest. My games are lore-heavy and lean very much towards being role-play centric. I pride myself on having a game that's centered around narrative verisimilitude, whilst still having occasional moments of levity. I traditionally run homebrew heavy games, and with homebrew content (classes, races, subclasses, spells, etc), all I ask is a quick review the right to reserve judgement if it's unbalanced. Long-form campaigns are my usual style, with character focused story-arcs in a setting that progresses alongside the party.

How Alexandria Sukumaran runs games

Roleplay is the cornerstone of my DMing and thusly, my games. While I do run tactical, difficult combats, that use terrain hazards and map changes, and pride myself on my exploration, all of those are in service of the roleplay and stories they will spark. I don't RNG combats - if you're fighting, there's a reason. Sometimes, the reason is that you screwed up and messed with the wrong person. Other times, you're fighting for the fate of everything and everyone you love. No pressure. Moreover, combat is rarely ever the only solution - You can and should absolutely attempt to persuade, deceive or intimidate your way to safety or success.
