About me
3 years DM experience with D&D 5e 5 years experience playing D&D 5e But was introduced to the game with 4e 10 years of TTRPG experience, with my roots in non D&D titles. (Masks, Glitter Hearts, Archipelago, Stewpot, FATE, to name a few) But a focus on D&D 5e in the last 5 years. Looking to play more games and get more experience as both a player but especially as a DM
GM Style
My Gm style naturally leans toward sandbox/“open world”, i like to give room for player/character agency. But have gentle reigns prepared to lead the table back to task if we get lost in the weeds, as it were. I like to work with the players to tell a fun and engaging story, as one of my favorite aspects is TTRPGs is the collaborative storytelling. In so i like to work with the player to weave the PCs into the plot and narrative of any game i run. But It is a game after all, and i have no issues running a game that is true to the rules, and “crunchy”, as they say. Although most good games have a fair balance of both styles, according to the full dynamic at table. I prepare and plan just enough to be ready to deliver a fun and engaging game, but not so much that i have i lose hours of hard prep to accommodate the play style and freedom of the party. This can push my improvisation at times, so patience is appreciated, but i think it is worth it in the end. (I’m always adapting, always question what you think you’re predicting about one of my games) I have some background in voice acting, so some of the NPCs may end up with unique voices, but not always. My game table is human rights positive. This includes Queer and 2SLGBTQIA+ humans, Women, and POC. Human rights are non-negotiable. That being said, I am not opposed to my games featuring human rights conflicts, given that the themes and tone of such is and played out as evil and villainous. I will use safety tools as needed or requested. As i said i like to work with my table as much as possible to craft an enjoyable experience for everyone, and work with the party as a whole and individually to create a space that is safe, fun, and engaging for everyone, and meets the game style that everyone is perusing. But this is my table and i will make the final call where appropriate, if needed, in addition to it being my call regarding rule interpretation, and what content is or isn’t allowed.
