About me

Growing up in Rural Indiana my friends and I had adults who we watched roll dice. We made our games, drew our own dragons, knights and wizards and when old enough were either taught how to play or hijacked their books and dice for our own! I come from a professional background as a funeral director/social worker from hospice, mental health and schools. So I look at things and people with a lens many others don't. Using empathy, compassion and true unconditional love as my pillars in life. I've been Gaming and Playing and Running (20+years) all sorts of games ever since and love every minute of it. I like to put time and effort into it based around what the players want but also around the conforms of the world it is set upon. I have vast experiences with a variety of different games and am very excited to make stories with you. The campaign isn't one you heard of because its YOURS! We will be making it as we go, I'll give examples of what I've done below but in general if you wanted to not follow a questline and the party decides to go after a side quest line or gets curtailed into something else entirely different, that's fine, its your game/story!

GM Style

Let's have fun, be weird, and be you! Session 0 will be about making characters, learning basics of game, basics of the world, safety protocols, and getting to know you, then we get rolling. STYLE: Role-Play heavy, I don't like numbers this numbers that, I want to hear you talk things out in character and get into the scenes, it's fun and fluid. I'll do npc's with varied voices (some better than others haha). RULES: if they need to be modded or adjusted it will be noted at session 0 for most part this shouldn't be an issue we are here to have fun! Let's talk about it and remember don't argue, let's get on with it and roll. Theater of the mind is better place than anything in my opinion than any platform can bring, we are doing rpgs after all. Therefore I won't be using many simulations on services as of yet. VISUALS: at times, drawings, AI pics, or char art, mostly our discussions and descriptions from stories and using imagination which is what brought us here from childhood. With other view map of locations. Games: *DND- Usually set in Forgotten Realms- (5ht ed rule set) but with restrictions set up like 2nd ed (what?) example: no dragonborn or sorcerers, or dwarf sorcerers for that matter combo. As above for example about setting your own game: let's say your quest was to get the princess from a tower. Instead on the way you stop at a tavern and roleplay the night away or pick up another quest through role play or you as the characters decide something else needs done. Fine, just understand there will be ramifications, but its your game. (I have done campaigns that exist but altered to our own (players and mine) needs for instance I did the amazingly awesome 2nd DND nearly never ending dungeon crawl Undermountain which took nearly 3 years. (in person friends.) *Star Wars- WEG d6. One of my favs to run. Usually set in the classic era. (original trilogy) if need to ask further talk to someone older than you. No jedi, will discuss further in session 0. I've had amazing games and ongoing campaigns for YEARS with this game (one of which is 20 with my brother and best friend). I have nearly unlimited scenarios for this one. This one often players go off doing whatever. Example: My brother's character for a time become a freer of slaves on several different worlds (had nothing to do with what the original plan was). *Blade Runner- amazing game if you are not familiar with movies or the setting of the neon noir punk setting, keep looking elsewhere if you don't get it. The game captured it amazingly. I've run the first 'case' and own the second, but it has ways to make your own and have done this several times, great resources online to do work and case files. Its dark gritty and grabs humanity back at you and the roleplay is great. *Mouse Guard- a fun starter for those wanting to play something different. Based on a comic of the same name. Tech level medieval. You play as a group of mice thrown into a world difficult to challenge you with weather, beasts and just traveling and seasons. Its teamwork and role play but describing on your side as much as the dms. *Zombie Apocalypse- I use the d6 system like the one for star wars. My own universe and scenario I am sure have similarities to what others may say, like this show or this book, but I haven't watched or read it all (who has?). Well it's hard, scary, with fear in game, disease, concerns on scavenging food etc all about surviving, roleplay and becoming more than what you were. Ever watch the walking dead? Think where they were to who they became. That could be you... one street/block at a time... it's slow but fun. I do like to use an overhead guide like google maps of were at. *OTHER GAMES: some not listed either but have ran- Grimm- play as kids that get sucked into the magical adjacent world of fairy tales that are on the bit twisted side of things (the queen from Alice in wonderland wanting your head!) Classes based on stereotypes (nerd, jock, dreamer) this one is great... Familiar Choppers/Dames- my own 20s/30s gangster setting in a fictional but realistic game with a hard core set. Well there's always more but what say you? Shall we make epic adventures together in whatever world they may be?
