About me

I am a roleplaying veteran. I started as a player, the new guy in a long-running group that had already been together for years. I fell in love with the hobby and wanted to share it with others and knew that the only way to do that was to sit behind the screen. As a GM I know that I can do whatever I want within the game, but I also know that what I want is for my players to have fun. I run games where players laugh, feel powerful, and hopefully care about what is going on in the world I create around them. I run games where the PCs feel like they matter and that their actions matter. I have two governing principles, 1) let players do cool things and 2) everyone leaves the table wanting to come back for another round.

GM Style

I love the roleplaying aspect of the hobby. Telling a collaborative story where everyone is invested in the outcomes is the part of gaming that players talk about for years to come. I also have a love for tabletop wargaming and strategy RPGs. Making encounters that are more than fighting wolves in an open field or a group of fighters in a blank room is essential to my games. Giving environmental hazards, puzzles, obstacles, and the like gives the players the opportunity to express their lateral thinking skills and have a bit of flair. Speaking of thinking skills, I love a good puzzle or riddle and sprinkle them around my games. There are many paths to ascension.
