About me
Hi, I'm Andrew, thanks for checking out my profile! For me, roleplaying games are about exploring situations that we don't often get to experience in our every day lives. Not many of us can call down lightning from the sky, or go toe to toe with immortal swordlords. Not many of us have experienced the complete isolation that comes with godlike magical powers, or the blood simmering rage of centuries old feuds, either. My goal as a GM is that we all leave the table having experienced something completely outside of our mundane lives, with everyone having as much fun as possible. I've been running convention games and public one shots for a couple years now, and I'm excited to dip into the world of online games. I'll be sticking with Runequest for now, but will consider broadening out as I become more familiar with the format.
GM Style
Things I like to do: *Collaboration. In my experience the best games have everyone contributing equally to the telling of the story, rather than the GM taking the lions share of plot development. I want to help you tell YOUR story, not make you a character in one of my own. *Fantastical Action. We are here to tell the stories of larger than life heroes, great adventurers with near super human capabilities. Anything that gets in the way of us experiencing that fantasy will be scrapped, whether that be overly constraining rules, or excessive dice crunching. *Grand Stories. I am a sucker for epics. The campaigns I run are often slow burning, but by the twentieth session when we're making call backs to decisions that were made in the first, it will all be worth it. *Maximum Game Fun. At the end of the day we're all here to have a good time, and I am more than happy to change any aspect of the game on the fly if it is not enjoyable. Things I do not like to do: *Strict adherence to rules. I enjoy complex games, as they give an abundance of systems from which we can pick and choose what we particularly enjoy. Imagine it like carving a beautiful statue out of a block of marble. Playing any game strictly by the book is not something I have ever seriously considered. *Cheap shocks. I will never use distressing material as a cheap shortcut to getting an emotional response. We can do better.

My partner and I played an introductory one-shot with Andrew with the Runequest: Glorantha system and had an absolute blast! Andrew was really engaging in weaving the lore, gameplay and roleplaying together into the story, and was really good at striking the balance between keeping us on track for the one-shot whilst remaining flexible for player freedom. Highly recommend playing with Andrew if you get a chance!
Andrew is an amazing DM. The worlds he creates are simple enough to draw you in quickly but deep enough to really sink your teeth into. His puzzles and problems always leave me scratching my head and hungry for more. I love playing with Andrew, because the stories he weaves tug upon my heartstrings, forcing me to make uncomfortable decisions yet offers me an myriad opportunities to roleplay a character as heroic or devilish as I please. I recommend Andrew with my highest grade. 10/10
Andrew is a passionate and supportive DM. He cares deeply about the worlds he creates when he DM's but doesn't let this get in the way of player freedom and creativity. I found he works with me to help me bring my character ideas to life and integrates each player together to form a cohesive party. I have laughed the hardest in andrews games, but he also doesn't shy away from giving players real emotional choices that affect the world and NPCs, giving each players actions a lot of weight. He encourages and rewards creative solutions to problems, even when they by-pass some of his planned ideas, which is a sign of a GM that puts that player experience first. Andrew is an amazing DM and I'm lucky to have played in some of his games.
