About Dylan Angland

I started DMing games for close friends when I was sixteen. Since then, I've developed a strong passion for world building and creating interesting and unique encounters. I love RPing, creativity, and, being a teacher by trade, am very open to new players! I am currently writing a fantasy series. I have written thee books, two of which are self published on Amazon. I have DMed multiple campaigns in that world, and both my writing and my DMing influence each other.

How Dylan Angland runs games

One of the most rewarding elements of TTRPGs is the role play, the chance to have unprecedented agency in a story. That being said, I believe that meaningful, interesting, and unique encounters make the role play that much more rewarding. I love designing initative encounters that are not always simple combat. Whether it is being thrust into the role of a waiter at a multiversal 5 star restaurant, or trying to survive and escape an unseen entity in a blanket of fog, encounters should be designed with roleplay in mind. I create all of my own modules, worlds, npcs and encounters (occasionally stealing from reddit.)I lean heavily on survival elements and want the world to feel dangerous and beautiful. I want the players to feel like their deeds are in fact feats, not everyday occurences. Like each fight truly is life or death. That being said, I implement a few homebrew rules and techniques to achieve that feeling without being too harsh. Overall, the most important thing for me, is that the players feel like they have agency. I want to provide a place where your decisions are driving the game, the characters, the story, and, most importantly, the fun.
