About me
Hello! My name is Brian, and I am an experienced in-person GM in my 50s. My regular group of players has 7 people, and I make sure that my games are an inclusive and friendly space to all people, regardless of gender, sexuality, age, etc. Starting with the first Dungeons & Dragons book I received in 1982, TTRPGs have been a space of creativity, imagination and fun that I have continued to share through multiple systems and groups, with players ranging from teenagers (my daughter and her high-school friends) to Boomers who have been playing for a while. I am also a big fan of video games, drawing inspiration and ideas from games like Skyrim, Dragon Age, XCOM and Fallout. All are open-world and allow you to develop your character’s journey, a story-telling method that I aim to bring to all games/campaigns. I am well-versed in traditional table-top games, and I am excited to bring that skillset over to a more digital space. If my GM style and vibe sound like a fit for you, feel free to check out the games I have organized, or reach out and we can figure out a way to make your TTRPG goals happen! GM Style
For me, TTRPGs are never about the GM opposing the players. The purpose of GMs is to help the players develop their own story though their characters and lay the groundwork for the challenges and triumphs they may experience through a game or campaign. Depending on the party and their play-style, my games can be story-oriented, with lore dumps and roleplay opportunities; combat-oriented, where players can stab and slash to their heart’s desires, or even puzzle-oriented, with players focusing on solving a mystery in the back alleys of their characters’ city. As someone who enjoys world-building and homebrew, it is important to note that my game settings are “living worlds”; there’s a greater world outside of the players’ focus, and events may happen outside of their control, affecting the setting and how the story unfolds. Player actions can and will have an impact on the world, whether for good or for worse. I don’t shoehorn my players into a “hero” role; they can to be chose to be good or evil, all I ask is that they work together for a common goal and respect each other, even if their characters may act otherwise. Player-GM communication is a high-priority, as I always want players to feel welcome at my “table”, so to speak.
