About me

Hello, friends! My name is Veronica, and I'm a writer, gamer, and facilitator who loves bringing people together to create fun stories and compelling experiences. I've been playing and GMing TTRPGS since 2020, studying game design since 2013, and writing fiction all my life. My goal is to help players craft characters that they can attach to, and facilitate collaboration on an emergent story using cooperative but challenging game mechanics. I love teaching new players, and I'm also thrilled to challenge myself to new heights with experienced roleplayers and tacticians.

GM Style

I try to balance my skills in each area of TTRPGs so that my parties can have a rewarding experience whether they like social interaction and roleplay, combat and tactics, or exploration and discovery. In the end, it comes down to verisimilitude and adaptability--how would the world react to the players? That being said, I'm always studying to improve in each area. I currently try to do at least a moderate amount of character acting, put a good bit of effort into VTT setup, and I'm working on making my combat more challenging and interesting in terms of variety and environment, and integrating principles of design like Matt Colville's action-oriented monsters, Justin Alexander's node-based adventure design, and The Monsters Know What They're Doing's design-influenced tactics. This adaptable approach means I often use table rules or am willing to go rules-lite or bend mechanics, especially around PC class abilities, for the sake of fun. If your enjoyment comes from strict adherence to mechanics, please let me know ahead of time, or come into the game with an open mind.
