About me

Hi there I'm Rick and, I have been running 5th edition D&D and other RPGs nonstop for 9 years. You could say I'm addicted. Now I'm here to provide the best experience for people who share my love for RPGs.

GM Style

My game style varies based on the group and the mood of the campaign we play, but I like the darker, grittier stories with hard choices. I tend to focus on interesting and challenging combat encounters along with exploring the drama a Player Character's backstory can provide.

Rick was super patient and kept the story moving. Awesome gm, awesome experience. Took time to hold our hands through character building and is just a cool dude. I would definitely recommend him. :)

I have been playing in multiple of Rick's campaigns and he always makes me look forward to the next session. He helped me achieve what I wanted out of the game without fail every time and always prioritized the enjoyment of all his players. He values and rewards creative solutions even if it is bending the rules of the game. I recommend Rick as a GM to players who like the tactical aspect of the game and don't shy away from unexpected turns in a story.

One of my favorite parts in our current campaign has to be the way we started. Our wizards house burnt down, our gunslinger was in jail for arson, and I was just there. We ended up fighting a murderous hobo and got chased by a werewolf in the first session. Afterwards a potentially party wiping monster for a party of level 14's crossed our path our dm played it perfectly as to make it a fun encounter, not an unfair one!

Really leans into player creativity using the Rule of Cool when applicable. Makes sure to make your character feel significant to the world whether it be from your backstory or your race. I started my D&D era with him, and I'm glad to have done so. A really terrific GM!

The amount of ADHD this man can endure is staggering. Want to have a nice party discussion about an immovable chair made with 4 immovable rods? Yeah, we have time.. Want to fantasize about various forms of necromancy and minions out loud for an hour? Only your party members will be annoyed! Can I have the guy I polymorphed into a giant ape lift me into the sky so I can be in range to polymorph another guy, who is being carried into the sky by a legendary griffin, into a giant ape so he can suplex the thing a few hundred feet down? Specific, but you sure can! In all seriousness, Rick is a great GM and I cannot recommend him enough for both serious and goofy campaigns. The combats will put you through the wringer and you'll come out feeling like you actually won, the NPCs are varied and fun, and your party, however dysfunctional, will have a great time. Just... never fight the rats. Please.

I really appreciate how his games typically accommodate diverse playstyles, where your character's actions can significantly influence the outcome. He meticulously prepares numerous options for those who invest effort, allowing for rich plotlines to unfold for your character and others. Additionally, the world and NPCs showcase remarkable diversity, lending distinct atmospheres to each location. This attention to detail adds a unique charm to the overall experience. I also admire how the encounters in his games are consistently challenging yet enjoyable, especially for those who relish tough encounters.
