About me

Hi! My name’s Mark and I would love to be your Game Master. Trained for the stage, I think I bring a certain bardic zeal to my games. My influences are a hodgepodge of genres and medium just like every other kid born in the 80s who grew up in the 90s. I probably watched too many action, sci-fi, sword n' sorcery, and horror movies growing up. I wore out my VHS copy of the original New Hope (Han shot first) and at one point was able to quote all of Monty Python's Holly Grail in its entirety. I’m also a certified Therapeutic Game Master having graduated from the Geek Therapeutics program that promotes art therapy, inclusive gameplay, and personal growth through gaming. I am not however a licensed therapist and there will be no psychoanalyzing or any amount of therapy in these sessions. I mostly use this degree to help make intricate characters with my players so that even in one shots or short form campaigns you can have good roleplay moments.

GM style

My style is all about you and facilitating your character’s story within the context of our shared narrative endeavor. I'm here to guide everyone through that experience in an equitable fashion. Both role play and combat are important in my games but I believe we can't immerse ourselves in the action until we care about the characters. Rules are there to get everyone on the same page but I believe in the "rule of cool" so make big choices and have fun. If you would like to listen to my style, you can look up the Dueling Dungeon Masters Podcast. We run the game with two Game Masters for this podcast but you can get a pretty good feel for my brand of gameplay by listening in. Sorry for the shameless plug.
