Hi, I'm Chris. Or, as I tend to go by online, Khunkurisu (Khu for short). I'm a dedicated GM with a ton of experience, mostly in D&D 5e though I not longer run nor play that game. Currently I'm running several games of Pathfinder 2e for friends, but I have also done games of Mutants and Mastermind 3e in the past. I love creating stories with people, and tend to run games that focus heavily on roleplay and try to involve character's motivations and backgrounds into the 'main plot'. That said, I've been told that while combat is less common in my games than many others, it tends to be on the more challenging side- especially for an under-prepared party!

GM Style

I love RP-oriented encounters, things that the players should think through and expect to have some greater tie to one or more character's backstory & motivation. Combat tends to happen at least once a session- more depending on system & scenario- but is rarely the 'generic random encounter' sort. When combat does arise I tend to swing one of two ways: 1) trivial fights that are meant to make the players feel good- these often come after big story moments of triumph or when power-ups happen. 2) challenging but fair encounters that can be trivialized with proper planning, but will prove deadly if not taken seriously. While I am very big on collaborative storytelling, I do tend to skip over things like shopping trips or long journeys by default- but I happily give them more attention if a player mentions wanting something specific that needs time and RP to give meaning. I also do my best with voices but quality and consistency vary wildly depending on the character speaking!
