About me
I have been playing Dungeons and Dragons (D&D) for over twenty years and have been a Dungeon Master (DM) for a similar length of time. I mainly prefer the Forgotten Realms setting and it is what I utilize for my games. I find it to be flexible, allowing me to adapt to the group I am DMing for. Player backstories have helped create organizations that exist within all my games, and their characters become part of the game's history. My goal as a DM is to ensure that all players leave the table with a smile and a sense of excitement, even sometimes worrying about what might happen next. I firmly believe that the story we create is a collaboration, It is not my story, instead it is ours, and I place a significant emphasis on the importance of player decisions and character aspirations. I thoroughly enjoy teaching new players about the world of TTRPGs. If you are new to the hobby, I invite you to come along and join a game or two, where I will patiently and helpfully guide you through the experience. For those who have been playing longer, my games present unique challenges that they have not encountered before. I design my own special creatures and powerful artifacts to be earned as rewards. As a Game Master, I love to incorporate roleplay and character voices into my sessions. Additionally, I enjoy designing and implementing crunchy tactical combat encounters that challenge players and reward clever thinking and teamwork. In terms of my GMing style, I strive to create a collaborative and inclusive environment where everyone feels heard and valued. I believe in providing players with agency and freedom to explore the game world and make meaningful choices that shape the story. I also enjoy incorporating player backstories and personal goals into the overarching narrative, to make the experience more personal and impactful. Overall, I aim to create a balanced and engaging experience for all players, combining elements of roleplay, combat, exploration, and problem-solving to create a dynamic and memorable game.

Brett was an incredible GM, from his detailed and creative worlds, to his amazing storytelling, well thought out NPCs and difficult-yet-well balanced encounters. I would absolutely love to play one of his campaigns again. He was great at explaining why certain things could or could not happen, and for a group of new players this was super helpful. The way he explains doesn't make you feel out of your depth and he made every session fun and loaded with new adventures only a seasoned GM could create.
