About Shin
I'm Shin. I've been a DM for about four years now. I used to be a writer and voice actor, which has made the first steps as a DM come naturally. I enjoy telling compelling stories for people to engage in and love to see my players immerse themselves in my works. I enjoy doing voices, utilizing immersive music, and getting my players into character for all sorts of shenanigans and adventures. I aim to provide a positive, memorable experience of your characters growing into legends. Memorable roleplaying moments, challenging and engaging combat, and NPCs to interact and ally yourselves with. I enjoy intertwining your character's story with the overarching plot. And not just at once, but multiple dedicated sessions to exploring the intricacies of your story. I advocate for rule of cool, but in healthy doses. After all, abusing the RoC too much can take away from those few moments from being really special. I'm willing to hear out folks on their interpretations of rules and spell descriptions. I always keep a door open for my players to voice anything to me. I'd love to offer all I can to make this a worthwhile DND experience whether you're new or a veteran. I look forward to rolling some dice with you!

How Shin runs games
I allow opportunities for my players to roleplay amongst themselves and interact with a colorful cast of characters. I believe combat is an essential part of the game and try to get in at least one encounter every other session, but I've had instances of there being an encounter for multiple sessions in a row. I heavily reward my players for coming up with creative solutions to puzzles as well as battles. Especially whenever someone manages to outsmart me. I like to keep track of all the sidequests you complete as a party and even offer bonuses to player character quests that last for the majority of the campaign.
