Hiya, I have been playing as a DM for 5 years and am currently finishing the Strahd campaign which has been running for over a year and a half. I played in a campaign 20 years ago which ran for 8 years. So as you can tell I like a long campaign. My games are very laid back and very newbie friendly. I offer one-to-one chats at no charge. I like my players to feel completely comfortable before starting and screen my players to make sure the campaign is a good fit. I absolutely love DND as well as the craft side of it. I make my own terrain and models and encourage others to share their talents on my discord channel. Am chatty and do try to do ( awful, you are warned !) accents. So if you are looking for a fun laid-back game where you could learn as you go then I may be the one for you. I do offer games that are for more advanced players too
I do awful accents, but it's worth a try and building better characters as I go. I encourage players to do what they feel comfortable with, so if you want to give an accent a go then why not! We all have to start somewhere and the only way you will get good is by practicing. I am generally a very laid-back GM. Everything should be fun in the games which is why i screen my players first to see if they are a good fit for the group. I have newbies and mixed experience games. For Newbie games we take it a bit slower to explain mechanics and such but generally after a few sessions we are up and ready to go. I am not a RAW GM I find that a bit tedious and prefer to play with the RULE of COOL. If you think of something awesome and it has some basis then it will happen. I have a discord channel where people can chat and get to know each other. I do one-to-ones with players ( no charge) to get them comfortable playing. I have played with a wide group of players, neurodiverse, mental health issues, younger players, older players basically every type of player. My games and groups are always very welcoming.
