About Michael

I have been playing role playing games for over 2 decades. Starting with 2nd edition AD&D, then moving to running my own games in the Storyteller system (Werewolf/Vampire), Star Wars D6, and 3rd Edition D&D/Pathfinder. In the past decade, I came back to GMing and have ran a host of games. I enjoy jumping around systems and genres to learn new games and get to experience different settings. I've ran numerous Powered by the Apocalypse games (Monster of the Week is my favorite), Stars Without Number, Blades in the Dark, Year Zero Games (Forbidden Lands), and a ton more. I enjoy running games where people are forced into making interesting decisions with impactful consequences. I want to make sure that with each session, you are always able to have a story to take away and remember!

How Michael runs games

I really believe that a GM's Style should change with each game, but my main aspect is to try and make each game memorable. I've played for a long time and I hate when for a months long game, you don't even have a handful of memorable events. I make games memorable by making the players make interesting choices and having those choices impact them and the world. This can be either in world building or during specific events in game. I also enjoy coming up with interesting tabletops for the online games. For a Stars without Number game, maybe there is a system map surrounded by news like you are staring at a tablet. For a Blades campaign, there is the table in your hideout with your planning documents and/or the map of Doskvol. At the minimum, I like to have a picture board of evocative images. I think these aid in fostering player's imaginations and filling in details of the world.
