I got started GMing...
I got started GMing a couple years after i started playing dnd. The last 2 campaigns I was playing in ended abruptly and I wanted play a story though to its completion.
How Josh runs games
Good balance between combat and RP, with at least 1 possible combat encounter a session, 2-3 if its a oneshot, with there sometimes being the option to avoid combat if so desired. In higher level games i try to leave it up to the players to set their own goals with, but always with some clearer avenues they can choose if they want.
