About Together We Roll
Hi, I’m Jess, the owner and founder of Together We Roll, and I love running games for people like you. I’ve clocked over 750 hours as a professional GM (and more than 1,000 hours in total) across D&D 5e, Tales of the Valiant, and Star Wars 5e. Every game I run mixes roleplay, exploration, and combat to create stories you’ll remember long after the dice stop rolling. No two groups are the same, so I adapt my style to you. Some players want crunchy tactical combat, others prefer moral dilemmas or deep roleplay, and many enjoy a mix. My goal is to make sure the story feels alive, encounters are challenging, and everyone at the table gets their moment to shine. I run my games through Alchemy RPG, a virtual tabletop built for theatre-of-the-mind play, with tactical battlemaps when combat kicks off. You’ll also get access to all my D&D Beyond content for character creation, and we use Discord to stay organised. It’s easy to jump in, even if you’re new to the tools. Whether you’re brand new to TTRPGs or a long-time player, you’ll find a welcoming seat at my table. If you’re starting fresh, I’ll teach you as we go. If you’ve been playing for years, you can expect complex encounters, memorable NPCs, and the space to tell your character’s story. Beyond my ongoing campaigns, I also run private games for groups of friends, events, and conventions. I design bespoke sessions for teams and organisations too. However we play, my promise is simple: a safe, inclusive, and reliable gaming experience.

I became a GM because
I wanted to create inclusive games where everyone feels welcome, run reliable sessions people can count on, and tell big stories with big payoffs that always keep the players at the heart of the adventure.
My favorite system of all Time is
My favourite system of all time is D&D 5e. It’s the game that first sparked my love of TTRPGs. I’ve branched out into other systems since, but 5e still holds a special place for me, especially the 2014 edition with its huge library of amazing community-created content.
The three words my players would use to describe me are...
Inclusive, creative, and engaging. (Based on my reviews!)
How Together We Roll runs games
My games are built on all three pillars of TTRPGs: roleplay, exploration, and combat. I love designing tactical encounters with layered objectives and I put as much energy into creating memorable NPCs as I do into the world around them. I want every session to feel alive, surprising, and centred on your choices. My style is heavily influenced by Dimension 20, particularly Brennan Lee Mulligan’s DMing style which was one of my first introductions to D&D 5e. I try to put humour and heart at the centre of everything I do, aiming to bring a mix of comedy, drama, and emotional payoff to my tables. You’ll also find echoes of the media I grew up with in the ’80s and ’90s. I want to tell stories that blend big adventure with sincerity, character growth, and fun. That said, no two groups are the same. If you prefer more roleplay, more combat, or more exploration, I can change things up. I just want to create an inclusive, welcoming game where you feel safe, engaged, and excited to roll the dice every session.

If my games were Movies they'd be directed by...
Steven Spielberg, Richard Donner, or Rob Reiner. I'm not putting myself in the same league as them but they're incredible storytellers who balance humour, heart, and big adventure.
Rules are...
Rules are important, but never more important than fun. I know 5e inside and out and use that knowledge to keep games running smoothly - but I’m always ready to bend or set rules aside if it means a more creative, exciting, or memorable moment at the table.
When it comes to voices
If I’ve planned an NPC I’ll practice to give them a distinct voice or accent. But if you put me on the spot, anything can happen! Once my players met a minotaur I hadn’t planned for, and he came out sounding like Mae West in I’m No Angel. They adopted him and I was voicing him for months!
Together We Roll's ideal table
My table is welcoming, inclusive, and reliable. Everyone is encouraged to bring their creativity, and no one has to worry about being left out. Players who enjoy roleplay, exploration, and combat in equal measure will feel right at home, and new players will find a safe place to learn the game as we play. If you love telling stories together, immersing yourself in character, and rolling dice for both silly and serious moments, you’ll fit right in at my table.

I love it when a player
I love it when a player really embodies their character, leaning into roleplay, making bold choices, and embracing both the triumphs and the failures. Some of the best moments at the table come from how characters respond when things don’t go their way.
I think min/maxing...
I think min/maxing is absolutely fine! It’s not my personal playstyle, but if it’s something you enjoy then there’s a place for you at my table. At the end of the day, this is a game and fun looks different for everyone.
My table is not the place for...
My table is not the place for hate, phobias, or players who see themselves as the only main character. Everyone deserves to feel safe, respected, and included. The best stories are the ones we tell together.
