Hey y'all, my name is Benjamin and I'll be your host along with my wife and co-pilot Kayla. I have a little over thirteen years experience in D&D 3.5 & 5e; across various platforms including Roll20 and Foundryvtt, and have remained an active storyteller since 2017 with my longest campaign spanning the course of around three years. Kayla is approaching two years of experience and largely assists with beautifying maps, theory crafting, and occasionally taking control over any Camp Followers the party acquires along the way--giving those NPCs a different voice.

How Benjamin runs games
I'm a story-teller first and DM second, and what I mean by that is I'm far more concerned with what will make for a better story rather than a typical hack-and-slash adventure. We're not hosting a dungeon crawl with nothing to offer the table but combat--that's never been my style of hosting. I use D&D 5e as a guideline, not a crutch, and favor a lax rule of cool over cannon lore or mechanics. Another quirk of my style of running games is that I handle certain situations a lot more narratively than most--which is to say that if I don't have to initiate mechanical combat to resolve a situation; I won't slow down the flow of the story, and will instead call a couple rolls and continue the narrative--this is usually what I mean when I describe my style as a lot more "storybook" than most.
