About BarbosaTheBard
Greetings Adventurers! My name is Shane and I have been a GM for over 15 years. I currently reside in the frozen north of America aka Minnesota (CST). My background is in theater performance, I love nothing more then being in front of people telling stories, which is why I became a GM in the first place. I have experience in a number of systems but my passion is for D&D 5E and SWADE (Savage Worlds Adventure edition) I have run home games in the past and run one from home now, but have been primarily a virtual GM since 2013. My Goal as a GM is to be fun and approachable. I love talking to and helping people, even if it's outside of usual game time. I am up for discussing things while I am online. I love being given feedback and critiqued, so I welcome players to tell me how they think I am doing and offer up suggestions. I want the game to be fun for everyone involved and think it's important that everyone has some creative input on the campaign. I await our meeting to begin weaving wonderous tales of adventure together!

How BarbosaTheBard runs games
I am a jack of all trades GM. I love getting deep into the story, while also hashing out some sweet combat. For me the perfect game balances both of these elements so there's a little bit of everything for everyone. I don't have a ton of experience with puzzles or similarly designed challenges, though I am down to learn and work with anyone who is interested. I love introducing new players into the expansive worlds and find it rewarding too. I also love the grizzled vets who've seen a mind flayer or two and maybe have some battle scars. Overall, I just want to have a fun time with great adventurers and spin together a really cool story.

My games focus on...
Fun and story first and foremost, I want everyone who comes to my table to unwind and enjoy themselves and be able to tell a thrilling dramatic story. I would love it if I helped make memories with my players they will talk about for years.
Rules are...
A template that should be learned but not something you should hold on so tightly to that it gets in the way of a cool or dramatic moment in the story.
BarbosaTheBard's ideal table
My ideal table is one where a group of friends are sitting down for the purpose of telling a story together, I like to cultivate a chill atmosphere and talk with my players like friends ibe known for years. Players who are story tellers and creative who aren't afraid of a little melodrama and silliness are some of my favorite types of players. Not to say I will not challenge my party with a tough combat or two but you aren't likely to find 2d6 wolves attacking you at night just because.

If you're into ___, you're going to love my table
I know it's definitely cliche to list one of the big names but if you're into Dimension 20 you might like my table, I love running games that blend the drama and goofyness while also keeping the vibes chill and positive.
I love it when a player
Asks to do something flavorful and . maybe a little unoptimal because it fits their character and the moment on the story. I also love when players get invested in not only their character but the entire party and world around them.
My table is not the place for...
Unfortunately I don't think my table is right for murder hobo beer and pretzels kind of games. If you are just looking to kick in a door and slay some orcs every week then I might not be the GM for you.
