About me

Hails! My name is Chris and I am The Bumbling Wizard. I’ve always had an intense love for gaming and storytelling from a young age. So when I said yes to my very first session of Pathfinder in 2013, it revealed a new magic to me that I never wanted to end. After a year as a player I took my first step behind the GM screen. It didn’t take long to realize that’s the role I enjoy the most. As your GM, I look forward to presenting you with challenging situations and working out the results of your decisions in dynamic, meaningful ways. The excitement of watching you and your group come together as a team to solve problems (with maybe a few bumbles along the way) is the thing that keeps me coming back for more. In any scenario, from pitched combat to intense social exchanges or cautious exploration, I strive to make sure your choices matter. That's where the real magic is at. Planning adventures and running them for passionate adventurers is one of my favorite things to do. That’s why I want to run a game for you, with you, together. I can’t wait to see what kind of story we create.

GM Style

Every game, player and group is different. I enjoy getting to know every player’s preferences and play style over time, and adapting the game accordingly. 🧙🏻‍♂️I strive to provide: Engaging, dynamic combat. Thoughtful, meaningful social encounters. Tense, rewarding exploration. 🧙🏻‍♂️Your choices matter: I approach every adventure like a dungeon. Whether it’s exploring rooms, overland travel or rubbing elbows with NPCs, maintaining pacing is key. Nothing is a forgone conclusion. Situations and outcomes respond and change according to player input. 🧙🏻‍♂️My table is a place for: Players of differing expertise and time investment. Experienced and new players. Learning as you go, through play. 🧙🏻‍♂️My games are a team sport: Character conflict within context is okay. Deliberate subversion of other players or their characters is not. In character, cooperate. Out of character, be cool to each other. Do that and we’ll all have a good time!

Chris is a standup guy with a calm and relaxed demeanor; excelling in creating a safe and fun space for all at the table. Beginner friendly and will work with players to bring their characters and ideas to life, without compromising the setting or ideas of others.

He ran a game that consisted of newbies and experienced players. He read the room real quick and made sure that the new players felt comfortable being creative and welcomed as well as keeping the more experienced players engaged. He had a great spooky story and he had great cloak on and made fun voices and had a playlist of music that really set the scene. It was an incredible experience!

You can tell that he loves being a GM. He is always patient with his players and willing to help them flesh out ideas or understand rules. Beyond that, his storytelling skill and worldbuilding are top-notch. Highly recommend!

Chris puts together a great game and cares greatly about the verisimilitude of the world. Would absolutely sit down and game at his table again in the future!

He kept the environment very open and safe. You could tell he knows the rules, but he's really chill about them.

He was my first GM, and was a good introduction to the world of TTRPG's. I was trickled the basics and slowly introduced to more complex rules, and it never felt overwhelming. He knew when to be patient (which was very important for our group, we got quite stupid sometimes) and when go along with the tables crazy antics, but was still able to give good construction and guidance and knew how to reign us in without ruining the fun. His worlds were engaging, and he knew how to balance gameplay and plot. His worlds didn't feel too derivative of RPG stereotypes, but it was never so out-there that we had to completely relearn everything.
