About Brindolyn

I love to tell stories! And I love to play games! TTRPGs are an amazing way to tell a collective, one-a-kind story. They're also an excellent tool for meeting friends and escaping reality for a bit! I've been playing TTRPGs for more than 10 years, and I've been running games for more than 5 years. I dipped my toe into the TTRPG waters by playing Vampire: The Masquerade and immediately fell in love. Then I was introduced to Pathfinder. Obvi, I became hooked. D&D 5e is really where my interest in running games began. I loved the storytelling aspect. I loved the roleplay. I loved it all. As a professional voice actor, TTRPGs are a wonderful platform to test out character voices. And that's an element I bring to games I run. I want to create characters you love (maybe loathe) and remember. And I want you to be able to do the same! I ensure a safe, inclusive space for all players and myself. Roleplaying is always encouraged but never required to be part of the game. The goal of any game I run is to tell an amazing story and to have fun in the process! I'd be honored to lead your gaming group to tell a fantastic story together.

I became a GM because

I love telling stories, and I especially love telling collective stories. TTRPGs, for me, are a way that I can create a vibrant story with others.

My favorite books are

"The Once and Future Witches" by Alix E. Harrow "Children of Blood and Bone" by Tomi Adeyemi "The Lies of Locke Lamora" by Scott Lynch "Legendborn" by Tracy Deonn

When I'm not running games I'm...

playing an unhinged character in a TTRPG! Or reading. Or playing with my adorable dog, Gus. Or exploring the hiking trails at state parks. But probably reading.

How Brindolyn runs games

I absolutely love roleplaying as a GM. I want my characters to come to life for my players. And I'm open to coaching players who are interested in diving a little deeper into roleplaying during game sessions. It's important for me that all players feel included no more or less than they are comfortable with. I prefer a healthy mix of RP, combat and gearing up (shopping trips!). I'm also open to player suggestions. Too much RP, not enough combat? Or vice versa? Let me know! No table or game is the same, and I prefer to adapt to meet the needs of my players. Speaking of which, Session 0 is our friend! I want to know your preference for how we move forward with the game just as much as I want your character's 2-page (or 2-sentence) backstory. I want to know which topics you're looking forward to exploring and which ones are off-limits. We're in this together! And it's my job to ensure everyone at the table is having fun and feels welcome and included.

My games focus on...

YOU! The player. You are what drives this story ahead. No campaign I run is ever the same because the players are never the same. This is a story we're telling together. Your motivations and the choices you make determine how the story unfolds.

Rules are...

threats made by the dominant socioeconomic-ethnic group... just kidding! Kind of. Rules are guidelines. They help us see the clear path ahead ... but sometimes, we need to go off-roading. Like that Robert Frost poem.

When it comes to voices

I give it my all! As a recovering voice actor, I do my best to create distinct and memorable characters, giving them each a voice of their own. That being said, please don't ask me to do an Italian accent. It's my one weakness. It's comically bad. My apologies to Italy and her people.

Brindolyn's ideal table

My table is inclusive and welcoming. No matter your identity or experience level, you have a seat at my table. Kindness is king, and consent is the law of the land. Players are encouraged to dive in according to their own comfort level. Still getting comfortable with roleplaying? That's totally cool! Does your character have a 10-page backstory and a very distinct accent? We love to see it! My goal is that anyone who sits down at my table walks away with a group of new friends and a love of TTRPGs.

I am for a vibe that's...

collaborative and encouraging! It makes my little GM heart happy to see players giving each other tips during level-ups and shopping episodes. And I love seeing more outgoing players helping players who are just getting into roleplaying by prompting them during a session.

If you're into ___, you're going to love my table

If you're into shenanigans, you're going to love my table. I rarely tell a player they can't attempt something in-game. That's the dice's job. I'll almost always encourage a player to swing for the fences.

I love it when a player

surprises me! My face might not suggest that's true, but I love when players think out of the box and make me do the same. I love when players keep me on my toes. Nothing makes me happier than seeing my players plotting "against" me in the Discord chat between game sessions.
