About me
I'm a communication professor and game studies scholar with an interest in exploring the art of game mastering. I'm offering an online version of the workshop I run at Gen Con for people who want to develop their GMing skills. I also run player-centered, narrative-intensive games that experiment with GM practice.
GM Style
I enjoy how the individual contributions of players work together to create a collective, shared experience for the group as a whole. So I invite those contributions, listen hard to the answers, and use them to move the action forward in whatever direction they portend. I'll use whatever game-mechanical procedures will help us visualize the action and its consequences, whether that's "theater of the mind" or tokens on a map grid.

Teacher
Bill was thorough about bringing out and teaching how to GM/DM. He utilized Roll20 and Zoom, talking thru the process, offering examples, and encouraging interaction during play. He walked thru and had me participate in making the oneshot. We back and forth GM'd, while he offered various tips during play.
