About me
What do I offer? Experience: I have played or run games since 1996 when I started with AD&D 2e. I have played or run games in main stream systems like D&D, World for Darkness, Pathfinder, GURPS, FATE, Rifts, etc; smaller independent titles: Star Trek Adventures, Marvel Heroic RPG, My Little Pony Friendship is Magic, etc. As well as playtested brand new games. Friendly: I work with all ages, experience levels, and interests. My goal is to be as entertaining as possible. Flexible: Player driven stories, you determine what is important and I will make sure the world keeps up. Safe: I can handle everything from Rated G to Rated NC-17, although my games tend to be in the PG-13 to R spectrum. Think of what typical Hollywood movies provide. We can discuss what topics will be avoided during session 0. If there are any uncomfortable topics that are missed and come up in play, let me know and I will remove or adjust as needed. You can't have fun if the game makes you uncomfortable. Fun: The most important mantra for my Gaming style. If you are not having fun, let me know and I will adjust.
GM Style
I make fun the focus, and I will tailor my games to maximize the enjoyment of the players involved. TPKs/Character Death: I avoid TPKs and Character Death whenever possible, I would rather a plot opportunity then a campaign ending. If a character death is agreed to with a player it will be epic. Player driven stories, you determine what is important and I will make sure the world keeps up. Every detail included can be further explored or ignored entirely if it doesn't interest the players. Rules Adherence: I tend toward a flexible style that allows for smoothest gameplay. I try not to let the little nuances slow down the fun. For Content: I include a bit of everything in my games and try to tailor the experience to what the players want. Whether you want puzzles, combat, political intrigue, mystery, exploration, or anything else I adjust accordingly. Additionally, the more backstory you provide the more I will try to tie it into the story. My games tend to be in the PG-13 to R spectrum. Think of what typical Hollywood movies provide. If there are any uncomfortable topics, let me know and I will remove or adjust as needed. You can't have fun if the game makes you uncomfortable.

Knows the Rules
I have played many games with Ari as the GM over the past 10 years; D&D, Pathfinder, Powe Outage, Star Trek Adventures, to family/kids games like No Thank You Evil, MLP Tales of Equestria, Mermaid Adventures and more! No matter the game or the player experience level, Ari provides situations that are appropriately challenging, and fun to play. If he's given a character's backstory he finds a way to work it into the campaign (a secret wife due to an interspecies marriage was kidnapped; a bard has a side quest to find all volumes of a song book, that was introduced as a puzzle for the bard). He also makes sure there are random situations and encounters both large and small both that tie into the campaign and also just flush it out as a living story. As far as play, he tends to focus on more roleplaying than rules; all though he tends to know then in and out. Fun is always the goal, even if it takes us off into random directions (once a bard accidentally liquefied a drug dealer in an alley, getting a critical hit with his magical guitar; which was absolutely hilarious and out of nowhere). To add to the player experience Ari not only does a lot of voices, but also pays attention to how different people would talk (diction, speed, vocabulary), which makes roleplaying more immersive. He makes interacting with the NPC fun and interesting, and is able to improv well when players come out of left field with random conversations or questions. All in all, Ari is an amazing and talented GM, and it is always a great time when we have the opportunity to rp together!
Ari was great at creating interesting events and scenarios but also letting us guide ourselves through choice. The story lines and environments were very creative and allowed for a lot of exploration and interaction. There was always a lot of variety so each game felt very full and there was always a lot to do. It was always very exciting and felt like we achieved something by the end! He was also very patient while we planned out of game or got off on tangents, but would also be ready to incorporate anything we came up with into the game, he was very flexible and on the ball, very creative and very very fun.
Ari was our GM for a couple of years before, during and after the pandemic. We wanted to keep playing after the lock-down so we all learned how to use D20. He was a great GM, I enjoyed every game he ran for us. Ari is also great at handling the grey areas around some the DnD 5e rules. He is very open minded about discussing these before making a ruling. If schedules allowed I would not hesitate to join another of his games. Ari is familiar with several different gaming systems.
