About me

I'm a gamemaster with 20 years of experience. I've run an enormous variety of games. My specialty is introducing new people to the hobby and then running long campaigns that are character focused and personalized. I've founded 8 gaming groups that have all become long time friends. My most recent group in London (Isleworth RPG 68 members) now has spin off groups. It's a great way to build friend groups! I love character-driven drama, found family plotlines, NPCs from backstories, tragic deaths and tearful reunions. The focus is always on people at the table having fun. I'm queer and neurodiverse-friendly. Because I like to keep the focus on the story and not the math, I tend towards lighter systems like Dungeon World, FATE, World of Darkness, and Blades in the Dark. I do GM a lot of Dungeons & Dragons 5e and I've found ways to make it run smoothly so everyone stays immersed in the action.

GM style

In the last 20 years, I've run a wide variety of games but there are recurring styles. My players always get emotionally invested in my plotlines and frequently become really good friends because of it. We just have a ton of fun exploring the colorful world our imaginations can create. I also love really fast-paced games that play more like a Marvel movie than a Jane Austen novel. I will certainly lean on the Rule of Cool in combat. I also love really fast-paced games that play more like a Marvel movie than a Jane Austen novel. I will certainly lean on the Rule of Cool in combat. I enjoy helping players realize their character's dreams. The best stories come from the crazy ideas players come up with and I don't shoot those down. The difference is I make sure people keep that in-character perspective because I like to see what characters could figure out with enough tinkering in-world. Think "what if we strapped rocket launchers to the dragon?" not "I crammed in an extra +2 to hit when flanking". No matter what, the focus is always on having fun and telling a good story. My table is a safe place to explore and express yourself. RPGs are a great way to try out things you wouldn't otherwise try out in a safe way. Even though stories are about conflict, my worlds can't help but reflect my optimistic and affirming outlook on life.
