About Aaron

My name is Aaron, I am pansexual, and I am a forever DM (by choice!). I really enjoy running player driven games with a good story! I really enjoy running combat, but I don't consider my encounters to be particularly difficult. I really like the storytelling aspect of DND, so this is where my focus tends to go!

I became a GM because

I love storytelling. When I was younger I always wanted to do some form of writing, be it novels or journalism. I started GM'ing out of necessity but quickly realized it is an effective outlet for me to exercise the creative ideas I have for stories.

How Aaron runs games

As it says in my bio, storytelling is my favorite part of running games. I love working with my players to create amazing stories. I also love roleplay. It's always awesome to see players come out of their shell and really get into roleplaying in the middle of a game. Combat is a lot of fun as well. I really love describing combat as it progresses, describing what attacks look like, what magic is doing in the moment, and so on. Describing crits is probably my favorite thing to do when running a game! I also really love improv. Coming up with elements on the spot in reaction to what the players are doing is a necessity when it comes to running a game, so it's something I've gotten good at and I really enjoy doing it.

Aaron's ideal table

My table tends to be relaxed and willing to contribute to the overall narrative. I always encourage players to interact with the world and each other for the purpose of forwarding the narrative. Players who like to cut up in light hearted moments and make silly jokes, but also dial it back and focus when the story takes a heavy turn always fit in with my table. Additionally, players that like to craft arcs and backstories for their characters usually enjoy the stories we work together to build.

Gets really involved in storytelling and matches my energy in roleplay. One of the best moments I have ever had at the table was when a player got into a shouting match with an NPC who happened to be their sibling.
