I am Erik, a Game Master with three decades of experience running role-playing games, and who has been running online games since the days of America Online. I currently run games on Roll20 and Discord! Beyond the countless campaigns I have run over the years, in equally countless variants of the rules since the BECMI edition of D&D, perhaps my proudest accomplishment was my controversial 3rd round finish in Pathfinder's RPG Superstar contest, in which I wrote up a fantasy Country populated by Blink Dogs, which later became the basis for Paizo's Pathfinder Blink Dog monster write-up.

In the olden days, back at the dawn of TTRPGing, more or less. I mean, it was the 80s-90s. I was the always GM for my group.
How AmusingSN runs games
My GMing is three-pronged. In the short-run, I am interested in entertaining with fun character interactions and challenging tactical situations. In the medium-run I want to tell a story that makes sense, with recurring characters and settings that are both fun and consistent, with the right mix of whimsy, despair, and perhaps a sprinkling of social commentary. In the long-run, I want to tell a tale which includes serious and provoking character growth arcs for the player characters, taken place over the course of the campaign.
