About me
I stumbled upon this site while looking for alternative ttrpg gaming options when home games couldn’t meet on a regular basis. That and a desire to explore different game systems that have caught my interest over the years. Role play is key for me, especially because I view my combats as an extension of role play. I love to see unique and strange characters, mechanics are secondary to me when it comes to recognizing a great character in the making. You don’t have to know what next spells or advancements your character will take at all times, but if you know what your character wants I can work with you through anything.
GM Style
Narrative/roleplay heavy with respect and understanding of mechanics. I consider combat an extension of roleplay. I take great care to include character backstory’s in a way that intermingles with the larger plot.

If I could pick more than three tags for Charles, I would - I'd add Rule of Cool, Worldbuilder, Sets the mood, Good for beginners... You can tell he cares about his players and his story because he takes the time to work with us one-on-one, to help us tell the story we want to tell and to make us feel comfortable in the world we're building together. Yes, together - Charles isn't a GM with a rigid mindset, and he's happy to let his players help shape the narrative. He can turn the simplest conversation or even natural one into an incredible story beat. If you're looking for someone who will encourage collaboration, and be adaptive to gel with both newcomers and veterans, you've absolutely found it here.
Charles is able to provide unique twists on familiar settings, spinning a genre's tried and true building blocks into something completely new and encourages his players to do the same with their PCs. And he is extremely clear about this and works with players, new or old, to make them feel like an active part of not just the game but the world it takes place in. That isn't to say he doesn't have tricks up his sleeve, as every game Charles has GM'd for me was seeped in mystery and always makes me excited to sit down at his table.
Great for players who are interested in experiencing a story through the results of their choices and a GM who supports the personal narrative/player fantasy of their character. Balances leniency and consequences to keep the game fun. I have played 2 games and both my characters were quickly given deep, personal motivations through naturally arisen choices and storytelling. Had some tough combat encounters as well, but was rewarded for tenacity and creativity (and luck).
