About Adriaan Basson
I’m Adriaan, a Cape Town–based Game Master. I’ve been running Dungeons & Dragons and Dark Heresy 2e since 2013, and I love introducing new players to the hobby. My tables are friendly and beginner-focused: I handle the rules, keep the pace moving, and work with the group to build memorable stories—big quests, tense fights, and fun mysteries. My style is light-hearted and fair, with a bit of absurdity when the players spark it, plus the occasional skill challenge to keep things punchy. I’ve got a background in drama, film, and music, which I use to create atmosphere and bring scenes to life. Sessions usually mix roleplay, combat, and exploration, with plenty of chances to grow your character and make meaningful choices. I speak Afrikaans, English, and German, and I make sure second-language English speakers feel at home at the table. If that sounds like your kind of game, I’d love to roll some dice together.
